In the next, six to eighteen months business world will undergo complete revamp. It won’t matter if you are a barber, operations manager in the textile business or a CEO of an IT behemoth. If you want your organisation to stay on the map, some serious thinking will be required.
We are in the lockdown. We are going to exit the lockdown. You will choose how to respond to the new normal.
Everyone has an equal opportunity to grow
Once businesses start to reopen, operating models will have to change. Some factors that have to be taken under consideration include:
- Social distancing
- Communication and collaboration
- Exchange of goods
- Business events
- Commute to work
- Shift work
- Catering
- Use of meeting rooms
- Equipment sharing
Implementation of the above is going to be mandatory and will not give you an advantage on the market. However, you can use it to win customers trust.
Your rules, your profit
In the turbulent times, some choose to give in and accept defeat.
You can position your business on the growth path by satisfying the demand for products and services. Upcoming months will test your ability to remodel and respond.
Take the strategic approach to planning.
- Understand the new legislation related to Covid-19
- Survey the market and choose products or services in high demand
- Forecast the demand (easier said than done, I know)
- Secure resource now
- Revise your business model so you can deliver
- Invest in people and technology (in that order)
Tony Robbins said in his recent post:
If you’re a small business owner right now, the last thing you need is a pep talk. Instead, let’s focus on tactical, how-to guidance that you need now to defy the odds, continue to grow your business, and ultimately emerge from this crisis with certainty and strength.
